rugs made of recycled fabrics

RUG CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR COTTON RUGS

MACHINE WASHABLE!
— COLD water, delicate cycle. Avoid leaving it wet in the machine.
— Tumble dry or hang to dry
— Don’t hesitate to cut any hanging threads. This will not damage the rug.
* If your washing machine isn’t big enough, try your local laundromat. Most of them have
industrial-sized machines.
PROFESIONNAL CLEANING
If you prefer you can have it washed professionally. It should cost around $2 per square foot. We recommend looking up a local “Oriental Rug Cleaner” as they know how to care for handmade rugs. If you’re located in Montreal, email us for recommendations.
STAIN REMOVAL
You can use SHOUT spray to remove stains on your rug. We also find that blue DOWN dish soap works very well on tough stains! Gently rub with water and a white towel. Let it dry.
PRO TIP!
Do not wait until your rug looks grey and dirty to wash it. We recommend washing it as soon as it needs it, this will make it easier to keep it looking like new!

RUG CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR WOOL RUGS

REGULAR CARE
— Vacuum regularly.
— For a quick refresh, brush it with a metal brush (Small BBQ brushes work very well, you could also use a plastic brush). Brushing your rug will remove any debris caught in the wool.
— Our rugs are handmade with high-quality wool, they don’t shed with regular usage.  Any excess wool will be removed when you vacuum or brush your rug. This will not damage the rug.
STAIN REMOVAL
— Spot clean with blue DOWN dishwasher soap + gently rub with water and a white towel. Let it dry & brush it.
DEEP CLEANING
— For best results, have it cleaned by a professional rug cleaner as soon as you think it needs it. It should cost around $2-3 per square foot. We recommend looking up for a local “Oriental Rug Cleaner” as they know how to wash handmade wool rugs. If you’re located in the Montreal area, email us for recommendations.
DIY: Hose it down in the backyard using a plastic tarp, cold water + laundry soap.
Start with the back, then wash the front. Hose it down and let it dry in the sun.
When it’s entirely dry, brush it.
PRO TIP! Do not wait until your rug looks grey and dirty to wash it. We recommend having it professionally cleaned at least once a year.
STORING

— Make sure it does not stay wet or humid. If you store it, we do not recommend
storing it in a bag. Wool needs to breathe.
